Today marks the official start of the 100 day countdown to Christmas. That’s right! 100 days ‘til Christmas!
Here at HQ we’ve begun to dust off the Christmas décor, grab the wrapping paper, and start to write a list of books that will get us in the right mood to plan the festive season. Here are our fab festive five that will banish the grinch for good:
One Week ‘Til Christmas by Belinda Missen
There’s magic in the air and mistletoe in the trees – but what will happen when the week is over?
Christmas has some of the best rom-coms on screen (-cough- Love Actually -cough- The Holiday -cough-). One Week ‘Til Christmas is the perfect book to curl up and fall in love with. It catches the Christmas magic with a fate driven, laugh-out-loud, holiday romance story. If you love watching the love stories play out on screen, why not try this book instead?
Miss Marley by Vanessa Lafaye with Rebecca Mascull
A spell-binding Dickensian tale of ghosts, goodwill, and hope.
A Christmas Carol is a staple Christmas read for most families. Why not try a new perspective? Miss Marley tells the story of a brother and sister who work their way up from poverty and the sister’s mission to keep the brother true. Mis Marley is filled with atmosphere, heartbreak, and hope.
The Evacuee Christmas by Katie King
A heart-warming story of friendship and family during the first Christmas of World War Two.
If you love escaping into the past at Christmas, we highly recommend The Evacuee Christmas by Katie King. The story follows Connie and her twin brother as they’re evacuated in the first year of World War Two. On Christmas Eve an unexpected guest arrives. This moving, nostalgic novel is the perfect book to read with a hot chocolate by the fire.
All About Us by Tom Ellen
If you could turn back the clock, would you choose a different life?
All About Us is an upcoming epic Christmas romance. Think A Christmas Carol meets One Day and you have Tom Ellen’s stunning new book. Funny, sad, and full of hope – All About Us is the perfect book to read with a cup of mulled wine by the Christmas tree. You can read it now on e-book, or the paperback comes out 13th October.
One More For Christmas by Sarah Morgan
Will three women learn that sometimes facing up to a few home truths is all you need to heal your heart?
Family feuds and budding romances, what else describes Christmas? Sarah Morgan’s latest Christmas story is set in the Scottish Highlands and tells a feel good, heartwarming story. One More For Christmas is the perfect comfort reading to get you ready for the festive period. You will have to wait until the 29th October to enjoy this one – but trust us, it’s worth the wait.
